When Lucy and Angie Aniwura met, there was an instant connection—a mutual recognition that this collision wasn't accidental.

 

For over a year they have been collaborating on a project depicting Angie as she wanted to be seen—a Yoruba Orisa devotee, her spirituality an integral yet hidden part of her life. In that, they found a parallel. Lucy's own spirituality is also deeply personal and rarely shared. Their collaboration is built on trust, a balance of vision and voice. Lucy begins each portrait, laying down the foundation in acrylic, then hands it over to Angie, who brings it into its fullest form with her intricate graphic designs. 

 

Each piece is an exchange, a dialogue—equal parts reverence, intuition, and creative fire.
